Our Rooms

Apples Room

Our Under 2’s unit holds a maximum of 15 children between two areas and the child to staff ratio is 1 adult to 3 children. The rooms offer a calm tranquil play space for children to explore and discover. In this group we take babies from 3 months up to two years. We ensure they are cared for, and their individual needs are met following their routine from home. There is nothing more we love at this nursery than to so see babies happy and settled and our team work hard to ensure we help you the parents and carers feel confident to leave your precious baby in our care.

We also strive to give you the care, attention and reassurance you need when leaving your little one for the first time. Your baby requires you to be happy and confident and this, in turn, will ensure a smooth and stress-free transition period. Our main priority is the happiness of you and your baby. Your little one will be nurtured and cuddled when things get a little bit overwhelming, or they are just so tired from all the wonderful interactions and stimulation at the nursery. Our baby room is split between two rooms, and we encourage the children to free flow between the areas and independently direct their play according to their own interests and needs. We ensure our baby rooms are full of opportunities for them to investigate and explore, to crawl and toddle to.

Through informative chats and settling in sessions, we gain a firm understanding of your baby and their needs and routine. We are led by baby, with regards sleep patterns and feeding. This is a nursery where the individual needs of each baby are met.

Outdoor play is essential even at this young age and our babies have their own specially designed play space outdoors which can be accessed directly from our baby room. They can crawl and investigate.

Babies at our nursery are seen as incredible little learners, who are loved and nurtured to ensure they thrive and develop. Our baby room is a haven of calm lead by our caring and knowledgeable staff team.

Blueberries Room

The Blueberries room is home to our 2 – 3-year-olds. It consists of 2 adjoining rooms and is suitable for up to 12 children. This room is always a hive of activity, with opportunity for our little investigators to explore and discover through open ended natural resources and their own imagination.

This is the room where little characters and friendships are formed, where children are developing skills of confidence and independence. Speech and language are nurtured and extended using songs, stories and rhymes. Children love to be curious and inquisitive, exploring the vast array of activities on offer.
Our dedicated team will discuss with you any help you require with regards potty training or sleep routines.

Once again, outdoor play is of paramount importance in our nursery and children spend extended periods of time outdoors, exploring and pottering about in the sand, mud kitchen or in our outdoor classroom. Active hands-on learning is a huge part of our day and children will need appropriate outdoor clothing.

Outside Classroom

We are very fortunate to have a dedicated outdoor classroom where the children can continue their investigations of nature and everyday experiences while in an outdoor environment. We view our outside space as an extension of the nursery and all activities can be accessed both in and outside. The outdoor classroom allows us to have a covered area that is protected from the elements, so our garden really is accessible in all weathers. Some of the many benefits of outdoor learning are –

Strawberries

Our strawberries room is where you will find our pre-school children and the aim in here is to nurture our children to develop holistically following The Early Years Foundation Stage. To develop independence and confidence, self-help skills and friendships. To be able to share and take turns with friends. To develop skills of empathy and kindness, love and compassion for their friends and others they meet. To be able to listen and follow instructions. In our preschool room, our children are designers in their own learning, they are investigators in their own play. They are given the support of responsive staff who are experienced and qualified. A team who understands how to facilitate continual development through questioning and extending learning opportunities that will spark curiosity and a desire to learn more.

Our aim is to create the thinkers and doers of the future. We strive to enable our children to take informed risks and to negotiate challenges. To develop physical skills to allow them to balance and coordinate. To develop holistically as a healthy happy child who is given endless opportunities to learn and develop through fun and play.

Our Garden

We believe outdoor play and exploration are an essential part of learning and growing up. We have developed our garden to provide children with the greatest variety of experiences, challenges and controlled risks. The equipment and activities in our gardens nurture healthy and active fun through climbing, cycling, sand and water play, Music and building.

In our garden children can learn and interact with natural elements; they can be little scientists when measuring the flow of water through our waterwall, or they can climb our activity cubes or build dens under them. They can be the next great chef getting messy in our mud kitchen or a lover of the creepy crawlers while investigating our bug hotel. We have no fixed structures in the garden, so the children are free to navigate the equipment to suit their ever-changing play needs. The only limit to our outdoor play is their imagination.
